| Multicultural Personality Questionnaire (MPQ)
The MPQ, an instrument developed by Karen Van der Zee and Jan Pieter Van Oudenhoven, measures five key dimensions of intercultural effectiveness. These are personality characteristics which can facilitate or hinder intercultural adjustment. The dimensions are:
• Cultural Empathy • Open-mindedness • Flexibility • Emotional Stability • Social Initiative There are English, Dutch, French, German and Italian versions of the instrument. So far it has been filled out by thousands of people. It is a reliable instrument and its predictive value is good. The questionnaire can be used for self-diagnosis, selection purposes, or evaluation of training programmes. The questionnaire can - on payment - be filled out online. Please contact: Van der Maesen Personnel Management. Different conditions apply for research purposes. For research applications please contact one of the authors. For more information see: Manual MPQ of Example-report MPQ |
Attachment Styles Questionnaire (ASQ) Attachment styles are personality characteristics which are formed during interactions with significant others. They influence the way we approach others and in particular unfamiliar others. Therefore, attachment styles are also relevant in intercultural contacts. After all, those contacts concern contacts with unfamiliar others. |
